Conservationist receives award

Nazar wins Young Professional Award

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) conservation programs specialist Daryl Nazar has won the Young Professional Award for the Northern Great Plains section of the Society for Range Management.

“Daryl is the kind of supervisor everyone deserves to have,” says DUC’s Michael Champion, who nominated Nazar for the award. “Daryl is a solid teacher with respect to  managing our rangelands and he is always willing to take a day and go into the field to share his knowledge with you. He gives any question you ask careful consideration and provides you the appropriate answer. It is the same watching Daryl work with landowners. It quickly becomes apparent that he has a love for the land.”

Nazar joined the company in 1991 as a rangeland agrologist. Since then he has become a key individual for DUC’s rangeland programming in Saskatchewan and is the lead on the DUC Rangeland Stewardship Team by developing land management policies, program design and implementation of management objectives on DUC-owned and -rented land and private and public partnership land.
