Newfoundland

Arthur Robar has his mother-in-law, Joey Carter, to thank for getting him knee deep into wetland conservation as a volunteer with Ducks Unlimited Canada.

When long-time auctioneer Bob Hogg retired and yelled out his last cry of “sold!” at the Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) fundraising dinner in Summerside, it was only fitting that Allison Smith of East Prince Auctioneers become the new manager of the microphone and the sound of the sales at the DUC auction.

Brian Cornell’s love for nature started with his dogs and their required daily walks and lead him to volunteer with Ducks Unlimited Canada.

Thirty-seven per cent of Ontario communities with 1,000 people or more have a group of DUC volunteers actively dedicating their time to supporting DUC’s wetland conservation work.
