Native Plant Solutions (NPS)

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) initiated the first large sale of native plants in Canada over 20 years ago. Since then, DUC has planted more native grasses than any other organization in Canada.

Native species are the clear choice for environmental stewardship!  Native grasses, forbs and wetland species provide long-lived, low maintenance and aesthetically pleasing ground cover in a wide range of environments.  Properly installed, native species typically require very little to no fertilizer and water inputs. Wetland vegetation can help remove pollutants from water. Native vegetation is used in both rural and urban settings for livestock feed, greening public areas, suburban storm water retention ponds, lawn and garden projects, and brown-field reclamation. The list of applications continues to grow.

Native Plant Solutions (NPS) was established by DUC to provide science-based solutions for designing, installing and managing upland and wetland native planting projects. NPS has become the industry leader for innovative native plant products and services, establishing approximately 100,000 acres of native grass so far.
