Bob Emery

Biologist

Bob has been a biologist with Ducks Unlimited since 1990.  From 1993 to 2000, he worked on the Prairie Habitat Joint Venture Assessment Project, a long-term waterfowl research study evaluating Ducks Unlimited's upland habitat programs in Canada's aspen-parkland region.  Information from the project has been used to guide DUC's upland habitat programs across prairie Canada.

Since 2002 Bob has overseen data collection for DUC's Spatial and Temporal Variation in Nesting Success of Prairie Ducks study (SpATS).  This long-term study is evaluating how nesting success of prairie waterfowl varies in relation to landscape composition throughout the Canadian Prairie Pothole Region, providing key feedback to enhance conservation program delivery.

Other DU projects Bob has spent time on include evaluating exit openings from predator exclusion fences, and radio-marking white-winged scoters in the Northwest Territories. Prior to joining Ducks Unlimited Bob worked for 5 years for the Delta Waterfowl and Wetlands Research Station on a study of canvasback breeding biology.  He has also worked for the Canadian Wildlife Service in British Columbia on a breeding biology study of Barrow's Goldeneye.

Bob has a bachelor of science in agriculture and wildlife from the University of British Columbia.
