Susan Witherly

GIS Research Specialist

Susan Witherly joined IWWR in September 2008. Susan’s career with Ducks Unlimited Canada began in Regina as a GIS Specialist in 2005. From the Regina office, Susan worked closely with conservation staff and field biologists in determining their spatial data requirements and implementing mapping technology to improve efficiencies and internal project information.

Susan’s area of interest within GIS includes programming and scripting for data management and geoprocessing tasks, customizing GIS products for spatial research and analysis, and developing mobile mapping applications for field data collection. Susan’s current area of work includes developing automated data handling procedures and spatial analyses for the development of a waterfowl productivity model.

Susan holds membership to the Canadian Association of Geographers and the Canadian Water Resources Association. Through the Canadian Environmental Certification Approvals Board, Susan is a Canadian Environmental Practitioner in Training and is working towards achieving a Canadian Certified Environmental Practitioner designation.
