How you can help

NAP artwork categories

There are four categories under which your artwork can be admitted to the Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) National Art Portfolio (NAP), and artwork is considered for inclusion in the NAP based on the requirements for each. In all categories the artist retains their original copy. Sold out or currently unavailable pieces can also be considered in all categories, provided the artist can meet the Submission Guidelines requirements.

We accept submissions of images that have been produced in giclee form. In all cases, we will only assume copyright for the images in the format we reproduce.

Category 1: National Artist of the Year

One artist will be chosen as our National Artist of the Year, and a minimum edition size of 2,000 will be produced. Artwork for this category can feature wildlife, waterfowl, dogs, fishing, hunting, camping and cabin scenes. Our Artist of the Year will receive an honorarium of $5,000 and 100 artist proofs.

Category 2: Waterfowl Stamp and Print

Each year, we select one waterfowl piece that will be made into a special stamp and print set. The subject for this category is limited to single species waterfowl. This print will be reproduced with a traditional and collectible 6 1/2” x 9” image size. An edition of 750 will be produced and the Waterfowl Stamp and Print Artist will receive an honorarium of $1,000 and 75 artist proofs.

Category 3: Outdoor Art

We will select pieces which will be reproduced in editions greater than 1,000. Artwork for the category can feature wildlife, waterfowl, dogs, horses, fishing, hunting, camping and cabin scenes. Artists will receive 100 artist proofs, with previous NAP (Alumni) artists selected in this category receiving an honorarium of $1,000 per subsequent NAP image.

Category 4: Unrestricted Art (open category)

This category is unrestricted – it can feature landscapes, still life, portraits, cityscapes, collages, abstract art or any other form. We will select pieces which will be chosen and reproduced in editions greater than 1,000. Artists will receive 100 artist proofs, with previous NAP (Alumni) artists selected in this category receiving an honorarium of $1,000 per subsequent NAP image.
