Habitat, Waterfowl & Wildlife
Ducks Unlimited Canada conserves wetlands. It’s what we do.
However, that one mission produces many benefits. Namely, we provide habitat for over 600 species of waterfowl and other wildlife.
As more wild areas become developed as human influence affects more natural areas, it is vital to give wildlife a safe place to go. By restoring and protecting wetlands, we provide a safe haven where waterfowl can live and nest, where deer and moose can get fresh water and where frogs can live in a natural setting.
The circle of life is completed, in a wetland with the ponds and grasses providing breeding grounds for the insects and invertebrates that the amphibians, waterfowl and other birds require to live. Without these spots, many species of plants and animals would have no place to flourish.
Next time you look at a wetland, take a closer look and see what else you can find living there.
