Surrey, B.C., June 26, 2009 - The B.C. Spartina Working Group needs Bookmark and Share your help to remove this year’s crop of spartina anglica from the shoreline along Boundary Bay and Robert’s Bank. Volunteers, conservation organizations and government agencies are lending a hand July 6-10 and July 20-24 to dig up and dispose of this invasive plant.  Contact Ducks Unlimited Canada at du_surrey@ducks.ca or 604-592-0987 for information.

The B.C. Spartina Working Group is a consortium of conservation organizations and government agencies including the Ministry of Environment, Metro Vancouver Regional District, Corporation of Delta, Ducks Unlimited Canada, Canadian Wildlife Service, Vancouver Aquarium and GL Williams and Associates Ltd.

Media are invited to come down to Boundary Bay for interview and photo opportunities.
