Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) commends the federal and provincial government’s announcement on July 13, designating $5.5 million to the B.C. Cattlemen’s Association (BCCA) to fund fencing projects on Crown range. As a partner of the BCCA, DUC will be involved in the program delivery on Crown range in the B.C. Interior.

Conservation project improves Fraser River fish and intertidal habitat

Rose-Kirkland Island, one of the islands of the South Arm Marshes, was the site of a intertidal enhancement project by Ducks Unlimited Canada benefitting the Lower Fraser River ecosystem. The project was financially supported by Port Metro Vancouver.

Conservation:
- The Young family of Oyama donated a four-acre marsh to Ducks Unlimited Canada, leaving a natural legacy for generations to come.
- Keen birders are often on the hunt for "new" locations to observe migration in its splendour. Of the more than 540 projects across B.C., six are highlighted as prime off the beaten track locales for wildife viewing.
- B.C. Environment Minister Barry Penner joined members of the Wetland Stewardship Partnership to formally announce the launch of the multi-agency dedicated to wetland conservation at the Serpentine Wildlife Management Area in Surrey in July 2009.
- Buttertubs Marsh Bird Sanctuary in Nanaimo was the site of a fall makeover project as the water control structure and one of the dikes were rebuilt.
