Where Do the Geese Go?

Amherst NS, September 22 – Ducks Unlimited has tagged twenty-two geese in Newfoundland, Labrador and Greenland with electronic transmitters to gain a better understanding of the birds' migratory movements.

The birds are part of the Atlantic population of Canada geese. Tracking the birds over the next 18 months will provide DU biologists with information on the status of this goose population and identify important habitat areas.

On October 15, the fall migration of these tagged geese can be viewed on the Internet at www.ducks.ca/geese.
