Ralph Fram’s Pond

Highlights

This property is a 250 acre farm located in Hants County, Nova Scotia. Ducks Unlimited Canada worked with the landowner on two project elements. The first project component was to fence a 3.2 acre existing wetland, which was used to keep the livestock out of this habitat.

The second element was to create a new 2.5 acre wetland in a low lying wet area of the pasture. The landowner, Ralph Fram signed a 30 year conservation agreement, which will protect these wetland areas for the lifetime of the agreement.

Nest boxes have been placed at the site and are being readily used by waterfowl.
