Corbett Brook Marsh
Corbett Brook Marsh is located in the University of New Brunswick (UNB) Woodlot across from the Hugh John Flemming Forestry Complex off of Regent Street. This wetland site is a cooperative undertaking between Ducks Unlimited Canada, the University of New Brunswick and the Forestry Ranger School of New Brunswick. Parking is available at the site entrance. The main trail is groomed and is ideal for cycling, jogging or walking.
The marsh is located a brief 5 minute walk from the woodlot entrance gate. Built in 1984, this marsh covers a 9 acre area and has a floating boardwalk from which to observe wildlife. Frequented species include Great Blue Heron, American Bittern, Red-winged Blackbird, Tree Swallows, Ring-necked Duck, Hooded Mergansers, American Widgeon, American Black Duck and Mallards. A beaver lodge is visible from the boardwalk. Black-nosed dace are plentiful and a variety of dragonflies and damselflies will delight visitors in the summer months.
