Black Duck Marsh

Black Duck Marsh takes you right out into the marsh. Come experience the sights, sounds and smells. This marsh is located in Lower Jemseg, N.B. The 500 acre wetland conservation area provides fantastic habitat for hundreds of wetland species. There is a 1.5 km trail (1 hour walk) around the area which provides some wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities. There is a trailhead sign with project information, interpretive signage around the project, and parking and picnic facilities.
Black Duck Marsh is a great area for viewing Osprey, Great Blue Herons, American bitterns and Pied-billed grebes.
The funds to develop Black Duck Marsh were raised at a dinner in Saint John in 1996. Enhancement of the area is ongoing. This project is made possible by the generous donations of people, businesses and the families who own the land.
