George Slipp Greenwing Legacy Marsh
The Greenwing Legacy Marsh is located in Hampstead, N.B. A 19 acre wetland project, this marsh is open to the public and is definitely a great way to spend a day.The site includes a parking area, picnic area and washroom facilities. There are three trails around the area which take you through some fantastic wildlife viewing areas.
LOOKING FOR A GREAT BIRDING AREA?
Visitors will enjoy watching Great Blue herons, songbirds and Osprey. This is a great area to view Bald Eagles and a Peregrine Falcon was spotted there in August of 1998!This wetland provides a fantastic opportunity to view staging waterfowl in the fall, with an average over 1000 ducks in the marsh.
The George Slipp Greenwing Legacy Marsh joins up with two other wetland projects, Larrys Marsh (10 acres) and Palmers Creek (42 acres). All three areas are closed to hunting, but are open to the public for birding and general wildlife viewing.
This project is dedicated to Greenwing Legacies - lifelong Ducks Unlimited members and our future conservationists.
