A Young Hunter’s Guide to Waterfowling and Conservation
Teaching youth to hunt safely, ethically and sustainably
Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), founded by waterfowl hunters in 1938, conserves wetlands and their associated habitats and supports ethical and sustainable waterfowl hunting as an acceptable use of a renewable resource. That’s why DUC is pleased to offer A Young Hunter’s Guide to Waterfowling and Conservation.
Developed in partnership with Ducks Unlimited Inc., this guide is designed to teach youth (age 12 and up) about conservation, the rich traditions of waterfowling and how to take up waterfowl hunting safely in an ethical and sustainable manner.
This beautifully-illustrated, 97-page book covers a wide variety of topics from safety, gear, skills and tactics to waterfowl biology, wildlife management and conservation.
The goal is for young waterfowlers, under the guidance of experienced mentors, to develop a set of personal ethics and traditions and a strong sense of conservation that they will pass on to their families and friends.
The guide is available in Canada to the public for $14.50 plus tax. Buy your copy today!
The manual is available free to DUC’s Greenwing members aged 12 to 17. Find out how you can become a Greenwing today.
If you are an educator providing accredited heritage waterfowling or hunter safety education programs to youth in Canada, you may be able to receive the manual at a reduced fee or as a complimentary offering. Please e-mail information about your program to DUC’s director of education to see if you qualify.
