Habitats, Communities and the Diversity of Life

Project Webfoot Free Lesson Plans for Elementary Teachers

For grades 4-6, Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) has developed the wetland and environmental education unit Habitats, Communities and the Diversity of Life (Wetland Ecosystems I).

  • Download the teacher and student package (Wetland Ecosystems I) in English or French. You can also purchase the full-colour, professionally-bound lesson plans at the Marsh Shop for a minimal fee.

With this unit, you’ll receive a 38-page teacher’s guide of nine lesson plans with resources for indoor and outdoor activities, along with a companion student journal. These resources will assist educators in the presentation of cross-curricular science material and evaluation of student learning.

Using wetlands as the focus to illustrate concepts, topics include adaptations, life cycles, food webs, interactions, environmental stress and conservation.

Habitats, Communities and the Diversity of Life (Wetland Ecosystems I) is a great way to help your grade 4-6 class learn about science and wetland conservation! This is provided to you absolutely free of charge.
