Evolution, Diversity and the Sustainability of Life

Project Webfoot Free Lesson Plans for High School Teachers

For senior 1-4 (grade 9-12) classes, Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) has developed the wetland and environmental education unit Evolution, Diversity and the Sustainability of Life (Wetland Ecosystems III).

  • Download the teacher and student package (Wetland Ecosystems III) in English or French. You can also purchase the full-colour, professionally-bound lesson plans at the Marsh Shop for a minimal fee.

With this unit, you’ll receive a 20-page teacher’s guide and a companion student journal. These resources will assist educators in the presentation of cross-curricular science material and evaluation of student learning.

Subject areas include environmental impact assessment, socio-political considerations in environmental solutions, biodiversity, sustainable development, adaptations, natural selection, wetland types, pollution and taxonomy.

Evolution, Diversity and the Sustainability of Life (Wetland Ecosystems III) also includes a strong field component. Students will study a local wetland and learn first hand about sampling techniques, observation, teamwork, safety procedures, data analysis, experimentation and use of technology.

This publication is a great way to help your Senior 1-4 class learn about science and wetland conservation! This unit is provided to you absolutely free of charge.
