Administrative Assistant – Winnipeg, Manitoba

4-month term position

The Opportunity

Native Plant Solutions (NPS), a consulting branch of Ducks Unlimited Canada, is looking for a smart, dynamic Administrative Assistant to join our team.
In this position you will perform day-to-day administrative and financial duties that will support the Native Plant Solutions Team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • processing invoices, PO’s and journal entries
  • assisting with financial analysis and reporting
  • maintaining contracts, projects and fixed assets
  • providing general office support including word processing, data entry, inventory, mail/courier, ordering office supplies, greeting visitors, etc.

As an enthusiastic team player, you possess strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills. Your ability to see the big picture and positive, “can-do” attitude will make you a great asset to our team.
You exercise strong initiative and sound judgment in handling routine and confidential materials. You are an energetic collaborator who believes in delivering the best customer service possible. Working with staff and our NPS clients, you must be able to cultivate solid relationships with many people.
Your basic accounting and administrative experience will make you the ideal candidate for this position, which is located at our office in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Requirements

  • Certificate/diploma in office administration, business administration or related field is considered an asset
  • Excellent internal/external customer service with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong administration skills; experience in basic accounts payable and receivable.
  • Detail-oriented with strong alpha/numeric data entry skills
  • Adaptable to change and capable of prioritizing in a fast-paced environment with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 would be an asset.
  • Having a passion for conservation, the environment or the outdoors would be a definite asset; experience in the non-profit and/or environmental conservation sectors would also be an asset.

This four-month term position (ending September 15, 2019) will be based from our dog-friendly office in Winnipeg, MB.
