Marketing Specialist – Fundraising

The Opportunity

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), one of Canada’s leading conservation organizations, is looking for a uniquely talented and confident marketing specialist – someone to lead, develop, coordinate and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to support our fundraising targets and generate revenue for DUC.

For over 80 years, DUC staff and supporters have worked tirelessly to conserve wetlands, water and wildlife. In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering fundraising appeals and marketing campaigns.
  • Producing creative and impactful donor-centric content and marketing material on multiple platforms to support fundraising initiatives and recruit volunteers.
  • Supporting DUC’s digital engagement strategy.
  • Preparing compelling cases for support; messaging DUC’s value proposition to potential donors.
  • Understanding fundraising sector trends and best practices.
  • Using data and analytics to effectively identify and target primary markets to help grow the donor and volunteer base.

Our ideal candidate is creative, collaborative and entrepreneurial; strategic, intuitive, organized and detail-oriented; an effective listener skilled in asking the right questions; a team player with strong project-management skills and the ability to influence others.


  • Minimum five years marketing experience with a diploma or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of marketing excellence, including content writing, proposal writing, developing creative briefs and designing strategic marketing plans.
  • Previous experience generating revenue would be an asset.
  • Ability to build positive relationships, connect with and manage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience in market research and data analytics; ability to apply insights to inform marketing activities.
  • Capacity to handle a high-volume workload, effectively prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • The successful candidate will also have an affinity to the outdoors, conservation and the world of waterfowl.

This position may be based from our national headquarters at Oak Hammock Marsh (in Stonewall, MB) or other DUC office across Canada. A home office may also be considered for the right candidate.
