Be the change that meets the challenge!

For four decades, Canadian habitat conservation efforts have been boosted by financial support under the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA). This is because over 70% of the continent’s waterfowl nest in Canada’s breeding grounds. In early 2025, the US Federal funding for this vital conservation was suspended indefinitely, threatening the conservation programs and momentum we’ve built with you over many decades together.

In true DUC spirit, our community didn’t turn away to weather the storm. Instead, a generous supporter and champion of our mission and hard work stepped forward to offer us a powerful opportunity: every dollar we raise through your donations will be matched up to almost $2.5 million. That means your gift goes twice as far in helping DUC conserve and restore Canadian wetlands, conduct cutting edge research and providing nature-based solutions to help increase climate resilience when and where it’s needed most.
