Alberta Wetland Classification System Field Guide

The Alberta Wetland Classification System Field Guide is an accessible, visually engaging overview of Alberta’s wetlands.

Based on the Alberta Wetland Classification System, it is designed for use in the field for those who work on the land or make decisions that impact wetlands and their functions.

Along with 24 detailed fact sheets for each wetland class, form and type, the guide also comes with over 250 images and illustrations for wetlands and common species. Additionally, the guide also contains a vegetation-based classification key and common plant species guide.

Support for this project was provided by Alberta Innovates’ Water Innovation Program, Alberta North America Waterfowl Management Plan Partnership, Prairie Habitat Joint Venture and Ducks Unlimited Canada.
