Hunting in Ontario

DUC has delivered more than 4,000 wetland project segments and secured more than one million acres in Ontario to date.

Much of this work has been completed in partnership with private landowners. Hunters, and indeed all visitors, must seek permission from respective landowners before visiting any property.  It is your responsibility to ensure you are adhering to individual property rules and regulations, with appropriate permissions and permits. We are pleased to be able to provide opportunities for the public to enjoy DUC properties. These are truly special places that the hard-earned dollars and support of our members, the local community, and other important funders have helped us secure and protect. Please respect them as you enjoy their beauty and please continue to support DUC and our wetland conservation efforts so we can acquire more of these special places.

Accessing DUC properties:

It is the user’s responsibility to ensure they are accessing properties that are the sole property of DUC and not those of neighbouring lands without the necessary landowner’s permission. If accessing DUC property for hunting, it is the responsibility of the hunter to abide by all applicable hunting regulations and firearm discharge guidelines of that municipality. Hunters are reminded that some of these properties have public trails on them and must ensure the safety of all users. Additionally, these properties continue to undergo restoration, management, and routine maintenance. At times there may be DUC contractors and staff working on the property that could affect access to the property.

Please review the list to learn how to find accessible DUC-owned lands in Ontario and their respective rules and guidelines to enjoy a safe experience.
