Wetlands help filter our drinking water, protect our communities from extreme weather, and shelter hundreds of wildlife species—from the smallest duckling to the tallest moose.

They’ve been supporting us, but now—more than ever— they need our help. While loss of nature continues in many places, we’ve pledged to protect 15 million acres across Canada this year! We protect iconic landscapes, beautiful wildlife and community green spaces when we start with healthy wetlands.

How can you join the fun?

1. Register online for Duck and Run 2023. Pre-register now to receive an email when registration opens.
2. Find an event near you, start your own, or challenge yourself with a healthy goal.
3. Walk, run or roll on the weekend of October 14 and 15 2023.
4. Share a picture of you and your crew by posting it on social media and adding this hashtag: #duckandrun

What can your pledge do for nature?

More than you may think. When you donate $50 to DUC, we can conserve an area of wetlands equal in size to an average home. That habitat can shelter hundreds of wildlife species, store five tonnes of carbon and 41,000 litres of water, providing cleaner air and water. It’s incredible how quickly your impact can add up to make a lasting difference!
