Calling all teens!

Apply for the ecoadventure of a lifetime…the Great Greenwing Adventure

Oak Hammock Marsh, Man., March 3, 2007Do you know any youth aged 13-17 that care about wetlands, love spending time outdoors and who want to take part in the eco-adventure of a lifetime? Then have them to apply to be a part of the Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) Great Greenwing Adventure!

Each year, DUC sponsors 10 lucky teenagers from across Canada to participate in an all-expenses paid, action-packed week at Oak Hammock Marsh and the Delta Marsh in Manitoba.

“We’ve found that the Great Greenwing Adventure has a positive, lasting effect on participants,” says Rick Wishart, DUC’s director of education. “Not only do they see new places and meet new people, they gain knowledge and skills that will help in their future studies and maybe even inspire career choices. Participants get to witness first-hand and understand the importance of wetlands and conservation.”

From July 28 to August 3, 2007 this team of young environmentalists will have fun doing activities like bird-banding, geocaching, decoy carving, canoeing, and more! If you know any youth that would enjoy holding a duck in their hands, participating in scientific research with leading scientists, or improving their waterfowling skills, encourage them to apply for the 2007 Great Greenwing Adventure today.
