Ducks Unlimited Canada hosting Online Land Auction

Edmonton, Alta., September 23, 2009Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) will be holding an online land auction starting Tuesday, October 20th at noon MDT. Featured in this auction will be 16 agricultural (perennial forage) and recreational parcels throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The parcels are being auctioned off to ensure that the land DUC owns has maximum waterfowl value and minimizes our habitat assessment management costs. Where possible, existing habitat on lands up for auction will be conserved through a conservation easement. Conservation easements have been an effective and viable conservation tool which was not in place when we were buying land in the 1990s.

If you are interested in bidding on any of these parcels, please visit www.ducks.ca/landauction today for a preview of all land up for auction. Preview includes a description of the land, photos  and conditions of sale and will run up to and including the day of the auction. Auction starts October 20th at noon MDT with half of the parcels closing on Tuesday, October 27th and the remaining closing Wednesday, October 28th.

If you would like an electronic package of the land parcels for each province, please contact: JoAnn Ross in Saskatchewan at (306) 782-2108, j_ross@ducks.ca or Miriam Frunchak in Alberta at (866) 479-DUCK (3825), m_frunchak@ducks.ca.
